Introducing the Cozy Nordic Eco Retreat in Trentham: A Sustainable Haven.
Welcome to the captivating Nordic-inspired retreat nestled in the serene landscape of Trentham’s quite residential streets. Ben and Lisa had a vision of a cozy and relaxing home that seamlessly blends modern elegance with sustainable living. To achieve this, our team embarked on a mission to bring their dream to life. This home incorporates the clients desired design features while prioritising solar passive design and sustainable construction.
Design Walk-Through
As you step into the home, you’ll be greeted by a spacious entry that links you to the inviting open plan kitchen, living, and dining area. Bathed in natural light flowing through expansive north-facing windows, this space exudes an airy and tranquil atmosphere. Adding a touch of charm, a custom crafted built-in Vic Ash window seat provides a cozy nook to unwind.
This home features three Nordic inspired living pods. One encapsulates the main bedroom ensuite and robe. The center pod contains the main kitchen living and dining space. Finally, the third pod houses a second bedroom, main bathroom, laundry, private sauna and garage.
Comfortable Temperatures
To ensure year-round comfort and align with our commitment to sustainability, this design incorporates rammed earth walls. These walls not only enhance the Nordic-inspired aesthetic but also provide exceptional thermal mass properties. By naturally helping regulate the interior temperature, they reduce the reliance on artificial heating and cooling systems, promoting energy efficiency. For those extra-chilly Trentham mornings, this home also includes hydronic in-slab heating and cooling. Paired with the rammed earth walls, these features keep the home’s temperature just right. They create a welcoming space, regardless of the weather outside.
A Cozy Forever-Home
This Cozy Nordic Retreat in Trentham provides a serene and inviting haven, where modern living coexists effortlessly with eco-friendly practices. Nestled into it’s peaceful surroundings, this home reflects Ben and Lisa’s commitment to low-maintenance living, energy efficiency, and a harmonious relationship with the environment.
